Files are not deleted from the card. Data recovery from SD card. How to delete a corrupted file that cannot be deleted from a computer, SD card or flash drive using standard Windows tools

I ran into an interesting problem the other day. Files are not deleted from microsd on Android tablet with Allwinner A10/A31/A20. Files were not deleted both from the external microsd card and from the built-in memory.

The first thing I tried to do was to change the permissions on the folder with the files. Sometimes, due to errors, the Android system on tablets with an Allwinner processor mounts an external drive (memory card or flash drive) as READ ONLY. Therefore, files are not deleted from microsd

Having done everything necessary - setting root rights and setting the rights to full read and write files (777) on the sdcard and external_sd (extcard) folder, I was a little surprised that files from MicroSD were not deleted again. And after a reboot, the memory card again becomes non-rewritable, and if you try to set the rights again, an error pops up.

Fortunately, I came across a detailed one that describes what to do if files from microsd are not deleted. As we found out from the article, external drives are mounted in such a way as to secure the Android system, so files from microsd are not deleted. This problem also occurs for users who have recently updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, as the ability of third-party applications to modify files that are not directly related to these applications has been disabled.

First you need to install Root on the tablet. How to do this can be read in.

After successful installation, you must use any explorer that opens full access to system files. I used the good old ES Explorer. Now you need to find and edit the platform.xml file. It is located in / system / etc / permissions /

Now we open the file directly on the tablet and find 2 lines of interest to us

We need to add just a couple of lines:

Add to the first line

And to the second line

Surely there are completely unnecessary files on your smartphone, which only take up extra space. You can always remove them so they don't move around. How to do this, you will learn from our article.

I would like to note right away that the user can delete any files other than system files, although the latter can also be deleted if available, which in turn can turn the device into a brick. Therefore, if you are not sure whether it is possible to delete a particular file, it is better not to touch it.

Deleting files is possible not only with the help of the device itself, but also with the help of a computer - when the device is connected to it. Let's go in order.

Deleting files through the file manager

You will need any file manager. We use ES Explorer in our examples.

It will only be possible to delete a record from a disc on rewritable discs marked RW.

For high-quality cleaning, it is better, after all, to use programs for burning and erasing discs.

In order to play 3D games, DirectX must be installed on the computer. Games simply won't work without it. But sometimes you need to uninstall a component in order to reinstall it again. Although DirectX itself does not require this, it does happen. For example, you start the game, and you get a message about the absence of DirectX. But when you install a component, the program says that it is already installed and does not need to be updated.

You will need

  • - Computer with Windows OS;
  • - DirectX Eradicator uninstaller;
  • - DirectX Happy Uninstall program.

Instruction

The first way to uninstall DirectX is suitable for owners of computers running Windows XP. It will be about removing the so-called DirectX 10 or 11. The fact is that neither 10 nor 11 are officially supported by this operating system. But, nevertheless, the network is full of them. And if you downloaded and installed such DirectX on Windows XP and noticed that games began to malfunction or not start at all, then you need to remove it.

Installs such DirectX as a regular program. Accordingly, it can also be removed. Click "Start", then select "All Programs". Find DirectX and select Uninstall. If there is no uninstaller in the programs, then another method will suit you. Open the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs. Find DirectX there and remove it.

Using the following method, you can completely uninstall DirectX, regardless of version and operating system. Download the DirectX Eradicator special uninstaller from the Internet. It does not require installation, it is downloaded in the archive. Unzip the archive and open the dxerad. After that, a warning will appear that removing the component may lead to unstable operation of the operating system. Click "Yes" in the warning box. DirectX will be removed.

Another program that you can use to uninstall DirectX is called DirectX Happy Uninstall. Find it online and download it. This program requires installation. Install it and run it. Select the Uninstall component from the main menu. Then, in the right window, also click on the Uninstall line. Wait for the process to complete. Agree to restart your computer. After the reboot, DirectX will be completely removed from the hard drive.

Useful advice

You can also install DirectX using the DirectX Happy Uninstall program. To do this, select Install from the main application menu.

Not all mobile phones have enough memory to store a large amount of information. Sooner or later it may be necessary to remove it. There are several ways in which you can delete files from your phone's memory.

Instruction

The first option is to delete files using the interface of the phone itself. To do this, go to its menu and open the gallery. Find the file to be deleted and open its features. Select "Delete" from the list that appears. If you want to delete all files in the phone's memory (or a specific folder), also open the functions, then select "Select All" from the list, and then "Delete".

Another option is to connect your phone to your computer. To do this, use a USB cable or other supported connection method (infrared, bluetooth, Wi-Fi). After connecting the mobile phone to the computer, the operating system will detect a new removable device. Open "My Computer" with Explorer and select the folder corresponding to the connected phone. Select the files you want to delete, then right-click and select "Delete" from the list. You can also press the Delete key on your computer keyboard. Confirm the deletion of files by clicking on the "Yes" button.

Today, you will not surprise anyone with a smartphone with the capabilities of a computer. Powerful and "heavy" graphic games, movies in HD quality, VoIP telephony via GPRS and Wi-Fi protocols... Not the top models of mobile devices can handle all this perfectly. The design of the phone is gradually becoming more complex, special firmware appears that is responsible for the efficient operation of the entire device. The problem is that when such firmware flies, the phone turns into a "brick".

RAM, keyboard and display, flash memory, processor, video accelerator. This is not a listing of the working parts of a computer. It is from such details that a modern smartphone today consists, in fact, standing on the ladder of technical progress much closer to a full-fledged computer than to just a phone. It should be noted that it is flash-memory that is very important for a modern telephone set, it is a chip in which hardware settings and software are imprinted in a special way. In the people, these settings are called firmware, and software updates, respectively, flashing.

Hanging up the device, shutting down, spontaneous reboot, turning off Bluetooth or Wi-Fi ports - these are some of the most common symptoms of impending smartphone firmware problems that require your attention. By themselves, these problems will not go anywhere, on the contrary, they will only increase. It is very rare that the firmware crashes just like that, without warning. The reasons may be different. A new, just-released device may have the so-called "raw" firmware, which the manufacturer is going to refine in the future. A smartphone can also break down as a result of the actions of its owner, for example, due to the installation of custom firmware that was assembled by users on the basis of the factory one and is purely experimental.

A smartphone with a broken firmware can be taken to a specialist service. Moreover, this is the best thing to do if the device is still under warranty. For those whose warranty period has ended, it is possible to deal with the problem on their own. It must be said that manufacturers have different attitudes towards self-repair of their products. For example, Sony Ericsson and, until recently, Nokia even encouraged experiments with phones, posted new firmware directly on the official website, and provided users with special software for connecting a smartphone and a computer. And HTC and Apple blocked access to the system files of their phones, forbidding users to change their structure.

To reflash the phone yourself, search the Internet for sites and forums of fans of your brand of phone. Usually these sites have experienced people who will always help a newbie.

To restore the firmware, you will need a USB cable, a new version of the software downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer and a special program that allows you to replace the old software with a new one. Pay attention to the fact that when you replace the firmware, all data on the internal memory of the phone will be erased, including the notebook, photos and other media content. Data on an external memory card, if there is one in your smartphone, will remain safe and sound.

Firmware recovery may take a long time. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your brand of phone, take your time and don't be afraid to make a mistake. After all, you will not succeed in “killing” the phone with an unsuccessful flashing. But the unfinished flashing process can easily send you to the service, turning the smartphone into a “brick”. To prevent this from happening, it is enough to provide the phone with uninterrupted power from the mains.

Tip 8: How to delete a file that is in use by another application

Sometimes when you try to delete a file, you get a notification that the file is in use by another application and cannot be deleted. The reason for this is that a process is currently running in the operating system that uses this file, so its removal is impossible. Of course, it's very frustrating when you can't delete a file on your own computer. But that doesn't mean it can't be removed at all.

You will need

  • - Computer with OS Windows XP;
  • - Unlocker program.

Instruction

In order to delete this file, you need to close the program that uses it. If you know what program it is, then do so. Press the key combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc. If you are using the Windows XP operating system, then immediately after pressing these keys, the task manager will appear. Or press the key combination Ctrl+Alt+Del and a window will open. In this window, select "Task Manager".

After opening the task manager, go to the "Processes" tab. Next, in the "Description" section, look for the name of the program. Once you find the program, right-click on it. A context menu will appear. In it, select "End Process". A window will pop up with a warning about possible data loss. In this window, also click "End Process". Once the process is complete, you can safely delete the file, as it is no longer in use by any process.

If you have no idea what program can use the file you want to delete, then you first need to find out the name of this program. This can be done using the Unlocker program, which is completely free. Download it from the Internet and install it on your computer's hard drive. You don't need to run Unlocker. After installation, it will start automatically.

Now click on the file you wish to delete with the right mouse button. Next, select Unlocker from the context menu. A window will appear. This window will contain information about the process that is blocking the deletion of the file. Click on this process with the left mouse button. Then, at the bottom of the window, click on the “Kill Process” option. Wait a few seconds. The program window will close. The process that was blocking the deletion of the file is now cleared. Right-click on the file and select "Delete" from the context menu.

The Windows operating system allows you to easily operate any files, be it programs or user files. But sometimes the user is faced with a situation where it is not possible to delete a file.

First of all, try to understand why the file cannot be deleted. There are several reasons why you cannot do this. First of all, you may be trying to delete an important system file. The second reason may be an attempt to delete a file of a running program. Finally, the file being deleted can be a virus file that has anti-deletion mechanisms. If you need to delete or replace an operating system file, the easiest way to do this is by booting from a second OS - if it is installed on your computer. If it's not there, you can boot using the Live CD. This is a reduced, but fully functional version of the operating system. It is useful in many cases - for example, when it is impossible to boot a computer with the main OS. With it, you can and delete the file of your main operating system. But do it carefully - if you delete an important file for the OS, it may not boot. If a message appears that you are trying to delete a file of a running program, stop it. This can be done in the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) or use any suitable program that shows a list of running processes and allows you to stop them - for example, the AnVir Task Manager program. This program will allow you not only to view the list of running processes, but also to see the location of their executable files and autorun keys in the registry. In addition, it shows the degree of danger of running processes. If, after deleting the file and restarting the computer, it reappears, we can say with a high degree of certainty that this is a virus file. To remove it, you need to find the autorun key and all components associated with the virus file. The virus can copy itself to several folders, so deleting one file and launch key may not be enough. Especially if you have some kind of program infected and every time you start it, the virus settles in the system again. Therefore, the first thing to do in such a case is to scan the computer with an antivirus with new databases. To delete files that do not want to be deleted, you can use the Unlocker program. This is a very handy utility that is built into the context menu. It is enough to right-click the file that cannot be deleted, select Unlocker from the context menu. Then, in the menu, select the option for your action with the file - delete, rename, move. Some files Unlocker cannot delete immediately, they will be marked for deletion and deleted during the next reboot of the computer.

Even when performing simple operations with ami file difficulties may arise. For example, when deleting a file, you can get a system failure under the “sauce” that it is protected from records, cannot be moved and so on. In some cases, this protection is physical, as is the case with data written to an optical disc, which can only be removed by damaging (scratching or breaking) the disc itself. If the ban is software, it can be removed or bypassed.

You will need

  • - Computer with Windows OS.

Instruction

The easiest to remove protected files are those whose attributes have the "Read Only" property set. To change this attribute, right-click on the icon of the desired file and select "Properties" from the context (drop-down) menu. In the window that opens, at the bottom of the "General" tab, uncheck the box next to "Read Only". Now the file can be deleted.

An attempt to store new information on a micro cd will fail if it is write protected. The reasons for the appearance of an access denied message can be different. You can remove protection from microSD in several ways - software and physical. Let's consider the most relevant.

Unlock microSD

Place the memory card on a flat surface or in the palm of your hand with the label facing up. On the left side of the card body at the top, find the small lock switch lever - the Lock button. "Loker" serves to protect information from accidental erasure. The lever can be flat and only slightly protrude from the body, be white or silver. There is no such switch directly on the microSD. Insert the card into the adapter and look for the Lock switch on the adapter itself. Move it all the way in the opposite direction.

After moving the Lock lever to cancel the data protection status, the reappearance of the write error notification window may be caused by moving the Lock back to the protection position. This happens due to the loosening of the switch, when you insert a memory card into the card reader, it shifts and turns on the memory lock. Fix it with a piece of gum, cardboard or remove it altogether.

You can avoid automatic recording lock on microSD by removing its contact with the Lock button on the adapter case. On the left side of the micro-flash drive, find a small notch, solder it with plastic or stick it with tape. Soldering must be done very carefully. The scotch tape option is simpler, but it can cling when the card is inserted into the adapter.

Changing disk properties

If the protection of the memory card does not allow you to copy information to another drive, but you need to save it, then try to remove the protection as follows. Connect the micro cd to the computer, find its name in the list of devices and right click on it. In the menu, select the "Properties" line, then the "Access" tab. In the next window there is an "Advanced setting", open it and check the box "Share", confirm the settings - "OK".

Formatting a microSD card

Sometimes, to remove protection from a memory card, it is recommended to format it if the "locker" is missing or did not help. Save important information to a different drive, because it will be completely removed. Programmatically, you can remove the write lock on the card using Windows.

Install a microSD memory card on a personal computer through a special adapter directly or through a card reader. On modern laptops, such a connector is already provided, it is usually marked with a "card" icon and looks like a narrow slot. The operating system will recognize the drive and its name will appear in the computer's device list.

Right-click on the CD drive icon and select the "Format ..." line in the expanded menu. Set the file system to the one that your device supports, usually NTFS. Click "Start". All information from the disk has now been deleted and the protection status has been removed.

Changing the file system

When writing a file larger than 4 GB to a memory card, an error notification window may appear due to file system restrictions. If the memory card is formatted with the FAT32 system, then the file size is one of its limitations for writing data. You should change the file system to NTFS, as described in paragraph 3.

Software tools for microSD

You can reset the write protection on a disk programmatically without deleting the information. To do this, there are various scripts and utilities, for example - reset.zip. When downloading software from the network, you should be careful - it may contain viruses. It is better to use proven applications to remove protection. Low-level disk formatting with the Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool erases all data, but it will help you recover even hopeless flash drives that have not been formatted internally by Windows.

Removing microSD protection via mobile device

Modern mobile devices: players, PDAs, phones, cameras have the function of formatting microSD. Try to find this option through the settings and format the USB flash drive directly on this device. Memory protection may have been programmed into the machine to protect data privacy. You can also remove protection in the settings. All types of electronic devices have their own characteristics, so in case of difficulty, read the instructions for the gadget or get an explanation from a specialist at the service center.

Use only the "native" adapter with the microSD card. With another adapter, even if you managed to format it on your phone, you most likely won't be able to write information to a disk.

Various flash drives and memory cards are very well settled in our lives. At the moment, they attract attention with their low cost and large memory capacity. But, as it turned out, many manufacturers have not yet found a way to produce successful models of flash drives and memory cards. Unfortunately, they also produce unsuccessful ones. What's the matter? The fact is that one of the problems with formatting, an error often occurs - Windows can't complete formatting the drive. Recording on different operating systems may differ, but does not change the essence. Now let's figure out why the flash drive is not formatted and analyze all kinds of solutions.

Standard formatting procedures if the flash drive is not formatted

If it was not possible to format the flash drive in any way, then there are two options: either carry the device to the service, or to the trash. But the attempt is not torture, we have a few more ways in store to fix our problem.

So, the first thing we will do is try to format the USB flash drive through the console. We have already done a similar procedure in the article, but this time we will use a different command.

If the files on the flash drive were occupied by some process, then “formatting” in the usual way - through my computer, would not have worked, since windows would not allow such files to be destroyed. Through the console, we will clean everything up.

Using the key combination Win + R and in the window that opens, enter the command:

diskmgmt.msc

The Disk Management Manager will open. Find your flash drive, right-click on it and select format.

If everything worked out, you can close this article. If not, then read on, there are a couple more ways.

Methods for SD cards and flash drives

The flash drive is not formatted with standard options? Then we turn to the use of the program USB Disk Storage Format Tool. The program is free and you can safely download it, and how to use it is written in.

Now about MicroSD. If you also get a similar error when formatting memory card data, you can try using the SDFormatter utility. Here is the link: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

Run it and in the window that opens, select our flash drive (where Drive). Press Option and where Format Type set Full(Erase), and where we set the Format Size Adjustment On. And click Format.

Update as of 07/24/2016 . This program - SDFormatter may not work, so let's move on to other methods. I found an interesting program called USB Flash Drive Repair Tool. This utility is capable of low-level formatting and disabling write protection on a flash drive, try it. Here is the download link. If any method helped, please unsubscribe in the comments.

And here are described, I advise you to look.

Diskpart Team

We start the command line. By pressing the keyboard shortcuts Win + X, select "Command line". In the window that opens, write:

It shows all the drives that are connected to the computer, including: flash drives and memory cards.

We find the flash drive (usually it is at the very bottom) and write the following command, which selects the flash drive:

To view the disk attributes, you need to enter this command:

attribute disk

Exit the utility with the command exit and try to format the flash drive or SD drive again.

And finally, if the flash drive is not formatted, there is another way.

Formatting with Flashnul

Download a special flashnul utility. This is a utility for testing removable drives and you need to work with it very carefully, otherwise you may damage data on other drives. Here is the link (you need to copy and paste into the address bar: http://shounen.ru/soft/flashnul/index.html)

Unpack the program to some disk, for example, D. Then the path will be like this: D:\flashnul.

Now, using the same keyboard shortcuts Win + X, launch our command line, where we enter the following command:

cd D:\\flashnul

Once we are in the directory with the utility folder, we need to identify the flash drive.

We write the following: flashnul -p

In the list that appears, find the number of your flash drive and remember it. You can remember the letter, it doesn't matter.

Let's say that your flash drive has the letter M, then you need to write a command that will wipe all data to zero:

flashnul M: -F

Now let's run a test for controller errors, which will also destroy the data:

flashnul M: -l

At the end of the test, start formatting again through management console. And the error should no longer appear.

I hope this article has fully helped you get rid of the problem of formatting flash drives and memory cards.

Update as of March 26, 2016

I noticed that users have a problem with the Flashnul utility. It consists in an error that flashnul is not an internal or external command. Everything is solved here simply. To get started, open a command prompt and go to the directory where you unpacked the flashnul program, I have drive E. In the line, just write "E:".

Now go to the flashnul directory, for this you need to enter cd flashnul.

After that, you can enter all other commands described above. Good luck to you. I am attaching a screenshot of the action.

Can't format a flash drive even in the ways that are indicated by yours? You can try using the Usbflashinfo program. After starting the program, click on "get flash drive information". Need to find lines VID and PID. The values that are indicated in them you copy and paste into the search engine. It is possible that for this memory controller there is a special utility with which it is possible to complete the formatting procedure. Here is the download link: http://www.antspec.com/usbflashinfo/

Also, you can use the site flashboot.ru. There are many different programs for flash drives and memory cards from well-known manufacturers.

It happens that no matter how much you try, but the result is zero, then it remains just to throw out the flash drive and purchase a new one, hoping that it will not fail for a very long time. If you purchased it recently, then give it back under warranty, as you may have had a marriage. Now you basically know what to do if the flash drive is not formatted.

Greetings, dear reader! Remember where we store our favorite and dearest photos and videos? Correctly! On little helpers, microsd. Everything about them is good both price and volume. Only one is bad. Often an error message pops up on the computer when formatting. Then the question arises very sharply: “The memory card is not formatted, what should I do?” Let's figure it out because you still need to know. After all, we use microdrives in smartphones, cameras, registrars, readers.

Formatting a memory card removes all old files from it, detects damage and eliminates them. Before formatting, be sure to back up important files on your computer.

Standard Formatting

The first way to format a memory card that any user uses is formatting on a PC.

  • In the "My Computer" menu, select the memory card, right-click on it
  • In the drop-down context menu, select "Formatting"
  • Select the appropriate file system type
  • Click on "Start"
  • Wait for the end of the process

Attention! By default, the FAT32 file system is selected on the computer. It works correctly with the 32 GB micro sd format. A larger volume of 64GB is formatted in a different exFAT file system.

This is where the first difficulties may arise when the computer writes

windows can't finish formatting.

What to do in this case?

Use other ways to flash the card.

Formatting via command line

Work in this way begins through the Start menu. Select "Execute". With the dropped console, perform the following manipulations:

This is one of the best methods for formatting a flash drive without using third-party utilities.

If the formatting error persists and you are unable to work with files on the memory card, try using an additional program.

Formatting with Utilities

Windows can not format the memory card and that's it! Then we turn to the almighty Internet and download assistant programs.

When working with third-party software, you should be very careful. Be sure to choose the correct name for the micro sd, otherwise you can cause serious harm to your computer. The choice of file system type also matters. Remember that 32 GB memory cards use FAT32. For more venerable colleagues - exFAT. Additional programs will always clean the drive completely, creating a backup copy of the data, in this case, is mandatory.

Here are the most common ones:

  • AutoFormatTool. Fairly easy to use. Working with her does not take much time. I recommend running as administrator.
  • HDD Low Level Format Tool. A solid program that does low-level formatting. Remember, you will not be able to recover files after using it.
  • The utility requires installation on a computer. Intuitive and easy to use.

Fix problems with micro sd

Sometimes it happens that files from the card on the phone are not deleted. You erase them, but nothing happens, they come back again, annoying more and more. Then you need to try all the actions in the complex:

  1. Reboot phone
  2. Take out and put the card back in
  3. Download the utility to your phone
  4. Make formatting
  5. If all else fails, accept the inevitable - the memory card "died"

Write protection

When you try to format, you may get the message "The disk is write-protected." This happens in several cases:

  • if the write protect button on the SD card is switched, which must be returned to another position. (More on locking/unlocking the memory card);
  • if the computer has caught a virus that blocks writing to hard drives. It is necessary to carry out anti-virus diagnostics.

Hidden files

In the case when the card is readable but cannot be formatted, it is worth checking it for hidden files like autorun.

Autorun.inf is a hidden autoload file that tells the system how to properly start the drive. It displays a colorful menu with an algorithm for further actions on the screen, replaces the icon on the desktop. Virus developers really liked such properties and they use the file to the fullest for their own purposes. The usual hidden text contains the code to run the program, so viruses get into the computer through it.

At the same time, viruses that have infected removable media are trying in every possible way to protect themselves. Including, and not giving the opportunity to format the micro SD card. Removing such a virus is very easy.

Let's try together if none of the above methods helped to get to the micro drive:

  1. Open command line (you already know how)
  2. Finding our flash drive
  3. Change file parameters attrib -a -s -h -r autorun.inf
  4. We destroy the virus on the map del autorun.inf
  5. We are trying to be productive.

Sometimes Anti Autorun, Autorun Guard, USB_Tool programs help to identify and remove a virus.

In order to protect the micro sd from re-infection, you can do one interesting way. The bottom line is that a file called Autorun.inf is created on the media. Newly arrived viruses will no longer settle on the drive, where there is a folder with the same name as theirs. Why does it work? Because Windows OS does not allow creating folders with the same name. That's all!

Outcome

Only a memory card from a trusted manufacturer can serve without interruption for a long time and not cause trouble to its owner. With careful handling, the consoles will stay in place for a long time. In no case do not pull or remove the card from the slot while working with files.

Remember! The recommended operational load on the card is no more than 20% per day. This means that more than 6 GB of files cannot be removed and written from a 32 GB memory card per day. This will significantly extend the life of the map consoles and help avoid formatting problems in the future.

If all of the above methods of solving the problem did not help, specialized service points will help you remove important files from the card.

It's always better to buy two 32GB micro sds than one 64GB one. This will simplify the work for a simple user, save important information and make formatting simple and accessible.

Bye everyone!

Thank you for your attention! See you again on my blog. Sincerely, Rostislav Kuzmin.

It happens that the data carrier “does not allow itself to be formatted”, and the system reports that it is write-protected, although the card or flash drive does not have a corresponding switch at all (or the protection is disabled). You can read the data stored on the media, but you will not be able to delete it in any way. In other cases, the system supposedly deletes files without any problems, but, in fact, they do not disappear.

Below are two methods that should help you unlock the protected media and format it. Keep in mind, however, that they may not bring the expected result.

In the case of damaged media, any formatting attempts may not be effective. Then it remains only to purchase a new medium and copy all the resources to it.

Protected media - unlock via registry

If within the section control there is no "StorageDevicePolicies" subkey, create it by right clicking and select CreateChapter. Make sure you enter the correct name. Select the created partition with the right mouse button, select the item CreateDWORD parameter. Name the new value WriteProtect and assign it the number 0 in the Value Data. Confirm with the OK button, close the Registry Editor and reboot the system.

If this method doesn't work, try the next tip.

Removing a lock with Diskpart

Connect a USB drive to the USB connector, then call up the console. Enter for this cmd.exe in the start menu search box, right-click the found item and select command Run as administrator. Administrator rights will allow you to avoid the message Access denied.

Then enter the following commands in sequence, confirming each by pressing the Enter key.

diskpart

list disk

select disk x(x is the drive number assigned to the USB memory being used - determine this number from the capacity of the listed media)

attributes disk clear readonly

create partition primary

format fs=fat32(you can use the option ntfs instead of fat32 if you intend to use the media only on Windows computers)

So, good afternoon, dear readers of the Fans-Android site. In this article, I will try to tell you how to deal with the problems of files and folders disappearing from the memory card and what to do if different audio and video players partially do not see the files recorded on the memory card.

Let's first look at the LOST.DIR folder - why is it filling up? This directive is created when Android launches File System Check (similar to Windows Chkdsk) and searches for lost file chains. These files appear if you pull out the memory card at the moment when something is being written to it. After all, Windows tries to write files when using the caching mechanism. When you pull out the cable, the contents of the cache will not have time to successfully be on the disk and these files are already considered defective. After the device is disconnected from the computer, Android launches scanned maps and such “broken” files are detected, and after that they are automatically moved to the LOST.DIR folder.

Now let's start looking at the issue from a practical point of view. First of all, so that you don’t have such problems, you should always select “Safely Remove” before disconnecting the device from the computer, and then in the device itself, already “Disable USB storage” (the name may differ slightly, depending on model and firmware of the device).

In addition, it is worth regularly checking the memory card using the ScanDisk application - after all, the problem may lie in the memory card itself. Try to format it and, following the tips above, write files to it.

How to do formatting?

  1. To completely format the card on your phone, you will need to follow the path: Menu-Settings-Memory-Disable memory card (Eject card)-Erase card-Connect SD card (names may vary slightly depending on the phone model).
  2. Also, there is an option to format using a computer with a choice of different cluster sizes.
  3. Format using the dedicated SD Formatter application or the Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool. This is the so-called "low-level" formatting.

You can also try to change the cache on the memory card using the application® SD Speed Increase. If formatting does not help, then you should try replacing the card with another option. There is also a situation when the files you recorded are visible on the computer, but they are not displayed on the device. In this case, check if there is a .nomedia file in the folder where they were recorded. If there is, remove it immediately.

If the files that were written there disappear from your memory card

  1. We have noticed that some of the files may be missing due to installed applications. Try uninstalling the latest installed programs, after which you noticed this problem.
  2. There is a solution to the problem using the QuickPic gallery. In the menu, select "show hidden folders" - the thumbnails folder, it may contain missing photos and video files.
  3. If none of the suggested methods helped you, try doing a factory reset - this may help in identifying whether the problem was in the program or in the firmware - which is also quite likely.
  4. Try updating the firmware version.

If your music player does not see most audio files

  1. Try to look at the length of the file name, as well as whether it contains any characters (punctuation marks, etc.). If the titles are too long, try shortening them. In some cases, this procedure was useful.
  2. If there are a large number of files, and they are all in the same folder, then most of them may not be displayed. Try to distribute them into several folders, approximately equally.
  3. Go to Settings - Applications - Application Management - Applications, find the "Media Storage" item and select "Clear Data".
  4. If you are using a standard player, then try installing any of the third-party custom application directories on your smartphone.
  5. Also, formatting the memory card often helps in solving this problem.

  1. Enter the diskpart command, activate enter
  2. Enter the list disk command, activate enter and select the disk, focusing on the size of our flash drive
  3. Enter select disk and disk number, activate enter
  4. Enter attributes disk clear readonly and enter. At this stage, the drive will be unlocked.
  5. Enter clean and enter. This will completely clean the media.
  6. Enter create partition primary, activate enter. A new section will appear on the map
  7. Then select partition 1, press enter
  8. active, enter. Section is activated
  9. format fs=fat32 quick. A successful formatting message will appear.
  10. assign and enter. The flash drive will get a new name
  11. To check, create a new folder

  • if the write protect button on the SD card is switched, which must be returned to another position. (More on locking/unlocking the memory card);

That's all!

Surely there are completely unnecessary files on your smartphone that only take up extra space.

Download FM from the Google Play Store, if you don't have it yet, install and run it. When you start you will see something like this:

Highlighted in red is the device memory and memory card, respectively. Select the section where you want to delete files.

Let's say the deletion will occur from the memory card. Select this section and see a list of folders and files.

To delete a folder, tap on it and hold your finger for about a second until it becomes highlighted, for example:

Then click on the trash can icon at the top of the screen to delete.

If you need to delete a file in a folder, go into the folder and do the same trick. File deleted.

Deleting files using a computer

In this case, you need to connect the device to the computer using a cable. After that, open the contents of the device - either internal memory or a memory card.

See files. Select the ones you need and delete them in the usual way in the trash.

If necessary, delete files from the trash on your computer. It's so easy and simple to delete files on Android. The main thing is not to remove something superfluous.

It happens that you just need to delete a folder or file, but Windows does not allow you to do this and writes about errors like "this process is busy" or "folder is not empty" or something else. Maybe you found some folder or file that you "didn't like" and want to delete it. Maybe you know for sure that this is "unnecessary trash" that only takes up space, and Windows swears and does not allow it. In general, not so important Why can't you delete, How many How to delete and in this article you will find answers to this question.

Most often, such situations occur due to the fact that the deleted files are occupied by other programs. But it also happens that it is impossible to delete a file even after closing all applications that can use this file. For example, a file or folder may become locked due to incorrect user actions and cannot be deleted in any way. These folders (files) remain "hanging" on the hard disk, take up space, are not opened and are not deleted.

The file may not be deleted due to a failure that occurred during its recording or overwriting. If you interrupt the write process, the file is not fully saved, leaving invalid entries in the file system. And our beloved Winda, not knowing how to handle it, simply simply closes access to it, such as for security purposes.

So, let's start dancing with a tambourine!

Why is the file not being deleted?

1) The file was blocked by an antivirus program. Often this happens when the antivirus quarantines the file. Or the antivirus detected a malicious program, but the treatment was delayed (it is waiting for its databases to be updated). In this case, in order to avoid infecting the computer, the user is blocked from accessing this file. Check the quarantine of the antivirus program and delete the file using the antivirus itself, or disable the antivirus and delete the file manually.

2) The file is being used by another program. Think about what programs can use this file. Close them and try deleting the file again. If this does not help, use the Task Manager to check the list of processes, the program may still be running.

3) Administrator rights are required to delete a file. If you are using a user account, log in again as an administrator and try deleting the file.

4) The file is being used by another user on the local network. Please wait and try deleting the file later.

5) The file is in use by the system. Try deleting the file after restarting your computer or in safe mode.

6) The device is write protected. For example, SD memory cards and some USB flash drives have a special switch to lock the device.

There are several ways to remove, I will start with the simplest and most effective and gradually move on to more complex ones.

1. Method:

Reboot

We programmers have a saying - "7 troubles - one reset". What does it mean you can guess

But the meaning of the method is that you need to restart your computer and try to delete the file / folder again.

2. Way:

Safe mode

You need to log in in safe mode.

What is the advantage of booting the system in safe mode? The thing is that Windows does not load its libraries to execute dialogs. To put it simply, if you have a virus on your computer (and this is not excluded), then in this safe mode it will not perform any actions. In this mode, there is nothing superfluous, only a clean AXIS and a person.

In order to enter this mode, when you turn on the computer and after loading the BIOS (or in general, you can press the key intensively from the very beginning of loading the "black screen") F8(no need to press and hold!!!). A black screen will appear, in which you need to select Advanced boot options using the keys on the keyboard, and there is already Safe Mode (well, or just Safe Mode, you don’t need to select all sorts of there With command line support and so on. And so it will do) and press Enter. If you did everything correctly, the system will boot up and in the lower right corner there will be an inscription Safe mode (it can still be in all corners). Do not be afraid of the black screen that will appear) without wallpaper and beauty.

Now you need to find the file that you just could not delete and try to delete it. In any case (it turned out or not), reboot.

3. Way:

Through the program Unlocker

That's it for such purposes, good uncles wrote such a program, called Unlocker. This is a very small, free program for unlocking files running on Windows. This utility allows you to close open file locks, thus making it possible to perform further actions on these files. Those. the program shows all processes blocking a file (folder) and can delete it despite all blockers.

In addition, the program allows you to rename files and their extensions or move a locked file to another location. This is also very convenient, because. Windows does not always allow you to do this quickly and calmly.

During installation, DO NOT agree to the proposed toolbar (well, or you really need it, then click Next) and uncheck Install Babylon Toolbar - RECOMMENDED. And the rest of the installation is normal - everywhere Further I accept Install and everything)

Just right-click on a file that is not deleted (not moved / renamed) in the usual way and select the program icon from the menu. A window should appear in which you select Delete from the list and press the button OK.

If the file or folder is locked, another window will appear. In it, you must first click on the button Unlock everything, and then Delete.

For those who do not know what bit depth is on the system - we read

4. Way:

Through file managers

Of all the most popular and commonly used file managers, the most popular is Total Commander.

File managers have the ability to bypass some Windows restrictions, which we will use.

To delete a non-removable file, we need to download one of these file managers, FAR or Total Commander (I use Total Commander Podarok Edition). After downloading and installing, find your file in the list of directories and delete it by either pressing the right mouse button and selecting the Delete item, or by pressing the Delete key on the keyboard.

Also, these managers have a good opportunity - to see everything that is hidden and encrypted (especially in different colors, like mine). If you do not delete the folder, then go into it through the manager and see what's there. If you see a hidden file, it means that it interferes. Then launch Task Manager ctrl+shift+esc), go to the Processes tab and look for this file in the list (it’s good to click on the button at the bottom left of the dispatcher Display processes of all users), find and complete (del or RMB -> End process or end process button in the lower right corner). With files, the same application, we are looking for the file name and "kill".

5. Method:

Another option with Unlocker

If the folder is not deleted from you, it writes something like "the folder is not empty", then we create a new folder on the same disk, transfer the folders that cannot be deleted to a new folder, delete the new folder using Unlocker

6. Way:

With autoload

Click Start => Run => In the Run box, type msconfig => Click OK. You will see the System Setup window. Go to the "Startup" tab and in the list of downloaded items, find a name similar to your "non-removable" file.

If there is no such file in the list, then click on the "Disable all" button. Click on the "Apply" => "Close" button. The operating system will issue a warning that all changes made by the system setup program will only take effect after the computer is restarted. Click the "Reboot" button. The computer will restart. After downloading, try deleting the "non-removable" file again.

7. Way:

Using System Restore

In the "System Settings" window (which was the same as in the previous paragraph), select the "General" item. Click on the "Start System Restore" button. In the window that appears, select the item "Restore an earlier state of the computer", click "Next". In a new window, you will see a calendar where you can select the date for system restore. Select a date when the "non-removable" file was not on the computer. Press "Next". Don't worry, System Restore won't affect your personal files.

8. Method:

Lack of permissions to delete files

Right-click on the problematic object and select "Properties" from the drop-down list

In the window that opens, select the "Security" tab

Highlight your name in the list and select "Full Control"

- "Apply" and "OK"

Trying to delete

9. Method:

Use a different operating system.

Try booting from a removable disk (or CD/DVD) (LiveCD or LiveUSB) with a different operating system. Then delete the file/folder.

10. Method:

Move somewhere.

Sometimes it helps to move (cut) the folder to an empty flash drive and format it later.

11. Method:

In the window, type the command chkdsk c: / f / r and click Enter, while keeping in mind that c: is the name of the drive to be checked. If the disk being checked has a different letter, then write it.

If the checked drive is C:, then when you click Enter You will be prompted to check it the next time you reboot. When asked whether to check or not on the next reboot, type Y and press Enter.

If the disk name is different, then the check will start immediately. At the end of the test, the result of the test will appear. Type exit and click Enter.

Now you can delete the file that you didn't want to delete. In the case of drive C, just restart the computer and after checking, delete the non-removable file.

12. Way:

In the case of opening the command line through Start - All Programs ... run the process as an administrator (RMB and Run as Administrator) and move to the folder with the file (or folder) that cannot be deleted using the cd \ command in order to end up in the root directory drive, and then cd folder_name to go to the desired folder.
